New Hope for Losing Weight
We are bombarded by messages from various health care experts today—their messages repeatedly warn us that being overweight can be hazardous to our health and wellbeing. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), more than 60% of American adults are overweight.
Unfortunately, wishing we were thinner won't lead us to lose any excess weight. Cravings for the wrong foods, combined with unhealthy overeating habits, and a lack of exercise is a recipe to stay stuck and continue adding inches and pounds each year.
If you are ready to release the excess weight you're carrying, then consider receiving a new toolkit. Trina offers cutting-edge tools for weight loss and will be your personal "power partner" in the process.
Trina will show you how to:
- Stop using food to mood-alter when you're stressed
- Transform unhealthy cravings into healthy habits
- Love yourself from the inside out—at any size or weight
- Lose weight while still enjoying fine dining
- Uncover your negative core beliefs
When Trina works with weight-loss clients, she often asks, "Do you have any limiting core beliefs?" A core belief is a positive or negative perception you have about yourself. For example, a positive core belief would be that you feel competent. A negative core belief would be that you feel incompetent.
We all have various core beliefs about ourselves. Some of us feel lovable and unfortunately, some of us feel unlovable. These perceptions either add to our self-esteem, creating a strong foundation for our sense of self, or if weighted in negativity, can make us feel "less than" others.
If you have not uncovered or addressed your negative core beliefs, then they may result in a weak or shaky feeling in your foundation that can lead to low self-esteem.
As a result, negative core beliefs can sabotage your weight loss success by keeping you stuck in an unconscious cycle of supporting and fulfilling your negative beliefs.
For example, if you keep saying to yourself: "I know I'll always be overweight, I can't take care of myself," then guess what? If you're not using tools to unravel, weaken, and counter this negative core belief with opposing positive evidence, then this belief will probably get stronger and stronger.
Eventually the limiting belief can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. With that said, are you ready to learn how to uncover and address your negative core beliefs? If so, then read on…
Three Cutting-Edge Tools for Weight Loss
1. Hypnotherapy is a cutting-edge tool that Trina offers for weight loss. Through deep relaxation you will have an opportunity to explore underlying issues that may be sabotaging your weight loss goals.
Exploring under the surface of a challenging issue, and addressing its roots, can be extremely productive. Unhealthy patterns often dissipate when the unconscious purpose of the habit is brought into the light where healing and integration can take place.
2. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is especially helpful to use when unhealthy cravings hit. In addition, using EFT to uncover negative core beliefs you may have about yourself can be a way to address any "unconscious culprits." For example, believing:
- I will always be overweight
- If I'm thinner, I'll get scary attention from men (Trina has found that this is a common unconscious core belief for women who have been molested in childhood)
- I'm unlovable
As mentioned earlier, negative core beliefs can keep you stuck in overeating cycles. These self-destructive cycles can perpetuate keeping your extra weight on and create a sense of hopelessness. Unfortunately, when self-destructive cycles are uninterrupted, they can lead to depression (sometimes referred to as anger turned inward) and self-hate.
3. Trina's 2-CD Toolkit: Weight Loss—Powerful and Easy-to-Use Tools to Release Excess Weight, is the third cutting-edge tool to assist you in reaching your weight loss goals. Trina created this toolkit so that her clients could engage in relaxing self-hypnosis exercises that support losing weight while gaining confidence.
Many of Trina's clients use the Weight Loss CD Toolkit on their own each day and then come into her office once a week for one-to-one support. It's common for her weight loss clients to come in for 4-12 private sessions, to master the tools and get customized support.
One self-hypnosis track on Trina's 2-CD Toolkit: Weight Loss—Powerful and Easy-to-Use Tools to Release Excess Weight, addresses emotional eating. Emotional eating is using food in an attempt to mood-alter or push down painful and uncomfortable feelings. In this mode, feelings may be viewed as enemies that need to be avoided.
Unfortunately, attempting to push down uncomfortable feelings by consuming large amounts of food is a common occurrence in America today.
What Fuels Emotional Eating?
Stress often fuels people to indulge in emotional eating. Emotional eating is a yearning for something more than nutritional fuel. When people are emotionally hungry they may be starving for love and understanding; they may be yearning for respect, acceptance, or a sense of belonging.
Trina's weight loss work with people who emotionally overeat includes exploring what feelings are below the surface of the unwanted behavior. Once the hidden underlying layers are identified, then unconscious emotional eating can be interrupted. As a result, people learn how to deal directly with their emotions and the stresses in their lives.
